Cutting Edge Bluetooth System

The DAC is equipped with Qualcomm’s new flagship QCC5181 Bluetooth chip, which is capable of lossless quality within the aptX Adaptive system. This means the chip is capable of achieving CD-level lossless sound quality over Bluetooth audio, bringing you ever closer to the music with all of its intricate details. 

Additionally, it also supports a new Bluetooth standard – Bluetooth 5.4. It  supports the LDAC and aptX Adaptive codecs, which when combined with Snapdragon Sound technology means your Bluetooth listening experience has never sounded this good before.

Desktop Mode for Huge Power

On the BTR17 is a dedicated D.Mode (desktop mode) switch along with a port to connect a USB power supply. When in desktop mode, if you connect the BTR17 to a phone as a dongle DAC and headphone amplifier you can also choose to connect an external power supply to the DAC via its dedicated power port, the red port as seen below:

Doing so means that the FiiO BTR17 will be completely powered via USB, which not only avoids overcharging and over-discharging its built-in battery but also means it is capable of powerful audio output, up to 650mW BAL out, without consuming the connected phone’s battery.

Dual DACs & Cleaner Audio

FiiO BTR17 is built around two ESS ES9069Q DACs, achieving high performance while using less power. This architecture helps to further reduce digital noise within the DAC, for a richer, musical sound against a cleaner audio background.

The DAC has EQ presets you can easily select with the built in bright colour screen and intuitive multi-function dial. You use the push to enter dial for many of the features! FiiO engineers also created a 10-band Parametric EQ based on the XMOS XU316 usb chip and can be adjusted through the app and web interface, so you can get as fussy as you like!

THX Balanced Headphone Amp

The headphone amp is an outstanding four-way full balanced THX AAA 78+ amp, providing strong driving power with incredibly clean, low distortion output, perfect for ultra sensitive IEM's, all the way up, to many over ear headphones! Try the SE 3.5mm and the BAL 4.4mm outputs on the top panel.

A usb c-c cable and matching perfect fit carry pouch with clip are included. The housing is alloy and the back panel of the DAC has a non-slip leatherette finish and the multifunction aluminum volume dial is a treat to operate!
