The die-cast cabinets are the secret sauce - SP3 is so compact and it allows the drivers to perform at their absolute peak - here at FiiO Canada we've listened to the SP3 many hours and they never fail to impress!! 

The die cast metal cabinets - at only 2.35L size! - are dense, heavy and make for an ideal enclosure, with excellent dispersion around the tweeter.  

SP3 employs a 3.5-inch carbon fiber midwoofer, larger than typical products in its class. These larger woofers have an inherent advantage over smaller woofers in dynamics, projecting a larger soundstage, and other sonic attributes. Whether watching movies or listening to music, this woofer is truly capable of expressing the grandness of the audio even at louder volumes.

Carbon fiber is extremely strong and highly rigid yet lightweight – the ideal properties for a speaker driver. The light weight of carbon fiber allows the woofer to have rapid transient response, while carbon fiber’s high strength and rigidity reduce non-linear distortion by minimizing unwanted secondary vibrations when the driver is moving when producing sound.

FiiO SP3, unlike many other speakers with a ¾-inch tweeter, instead utilizes a 1-inch tweeter that can produce frequencies as high as 35kHz. The tweeter’s KSV copper-clad aluminum voice coil that even at high volumes, ultra-high frequencies remain uncompressed – the result being better treble reproduction even in off-axis listening as well as highly resolving treble with natural timbre.

FiiO designed an S-Shaped port to maximize the bass tuning in the compact space. Amp board and circuits were compacted as much as possible to reduce the cabinet size further.

There is a handy BASS tuning knob, allowing you to easily dial in the response you prefer, for the location of the speakers. There are low and angled rubber plinths included, again depending on the location and even attractive, subtle RGB lighting along the bottom ring of the speakers.
